Effective May 1, 2026

Location Lab is a developer utility for setting and simulating a device's GPS location. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. In short: the app is designed to work without collecting personal data.

Information the app collects

Location Lab does not require an account and does not collect, store, or transmit personal information to us. Locations you set or save are stored locally on your device for your own convenience and are not sent to our servers.

Permissions

  • Location: used to display the map and to set your chosen mock location. Mock location functionality also requires you to enable the app as the mock location provider in Android's Developer Options.

Third-party services

The app may use a map provider to render map tiles. Such providers may process technical data (for example, your IP address) as part of serving map content, subject to their own privacy policies. The app does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs that identify you.

Data retention

Because data such as saved locations is stored on your device, uninstalling the app removes it. We do not retain personal data on our side because we do not collect it.

Children's privacy

Location Lab is a developer tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
